• Don’t buy a cheap heat mat, they can loose temperature regulation and cook your plants.
• Don’t use the wrong sized heat mat for your propagator, Heat will not be evenly distributed and this can lead to poor growing conditions.
• Don’t tamper with the Mat

And the DO’s

• Try buy a heat mat that has a controllable thermostat
• Look for an IP rated heat mat, this will give you peace of mind as we all know ” electric and water don’t mix”
• Buy the right sized heat mat for the propagator or pot you are looking to use, this ensures even heat distribution and reduces energy wastage.
• Always ensure the soil or medium your heating is moist.

All of our heat mats are geared to have a 20℃ increase on the environment they are in, so if its 20℃ outside it’ll be 40℃ in the propagator, that being said if its 0℃ outside the Heat Mat will be 20℃, an ideal temperature to promote healthy and rapid root development.
